Profile

This community is like no other and I am excited about helping Ivins retain its heritage and protect and carefully plan its future by serving on Ivins City Council.

After living in several states and searching out our “dream destination,” my husband and I have been citizens of Ivins by CHOICE not chance for 8+ years.

Along with the natural beauty of Ivins it is the sense of community that is so special to my husband and me.  I have enjoyed being involved with INKAS (Ivins No-Kill Animal Supporters), Ivins Night Sky Initiative, Wreaths Across America, Heritage Days, DOGIs (Defenders of Greater Ivins) and several local election campaigns. I believe in civic duty and in the past have attended and participated in planning commission meetings, city council meetings and public hearings on a constant and continual basis. Becoming a member of Ivins City Council is a huge honor and I am grateful for this opportunity.

Along with serving on Ivins City council, meeting informally with neighbors and friends to discuss current issues facing the city will remain a priority.

Michael and I have been married for over 30 years and when not traveling to visit family we enjoy hiking and walking throughout Ivins with our spotted dog “Eddie.”  You can also catch us on our bikes, or I am often on my “StreetStrider” for a morning workout. In the evening attending a play or concert at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta or Tuacahn Amphitheater is something we always look forward to.

I am not a builder or developer, nor am I involved in real estate or any business that directly benefits from Ivins’ growth. However, my professional career covers 20 years of management in the staffing industry including franchise development. I also have 12 years as an independent consultant and private business owner/operator. I know my business knowledge and experience is a strong asset in understanding how a city operates.

As I serve on Ivins City Council, I will be thoughtful in considering all agenda items and work with the city and other council members to make the best possible decisions for the future of Ivins.
